Beginning 01MAY, Lufthansa will debut "Allegris" aboard Airbus A350-900 aircraft flying from Vancouver (YVR) to Munich (MUC).
According to a statement from the airline, "On 1 May 2024, the first Airbus A350 will take off from Munich to Vancouver with the new Lufthansa Allegris long-haul experience on board."
Allegris is the new brand for Lufthansa's Future Inter-Continental Experience (FICE). It includes new products for first, business, premium economy, and economy class.
On 15APR, Lufthansa's CEO, Jens Ritter, announced on LinkedIn, "It is always a special moment to welcome a new aircraft to our fleet. But this bird is even more special to us.
"This weekend, we received our very first aircraft with our new cabin product 'Lufthansa Allegris.'" he shared.
Travel Weekly reports, "Allegris cabins will be the most diversely configured in the sky."
Allegris cabin design offers a range of luxurious amenities such as double beds and minibars.
"With Allegris, we are setting a new standard and launching a new era of travelling experience," Ritter added.
The new cabin design will offer five business-class products, four economy products, and a premium economy cabin.
The airline announced in a statement, "The first Airbus A350 equipped with Allegris will fly from Munich to the Canadian metropolis of Vancouver.
"The second destination is Toronto, which will be served alternately with Vancouver on selected flights in the first few months. With further A350s delivered, the Allegris cabin will also be used on flights to Chicago and Montreal in the summer."
According to Business Insider, Lufthansa first announced Allegris in 2017 but planned to launch the new cabin on the Boeing 777X — not the A350.
"Boeing's yet-to-be-certified 777-9 was expected to fly commercially by 2020, but yearslong production problems have delayed that at least five years to 2025."
Amid the delays, Lufthansa shifted Allegris to its rival A350.
Seat maps of Allegris flights can be viewed on Lufthansa's booking channels.
Seat reservations in Business Class are free of charge during the initial few months.
