Canada based Zara Airways hopes to begin direct flights between Toronto and Pakistan in August.

Published reports say Zara has asked Canadian and Pakistani government authorities for permission to operate direct flights from Toronto to Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore. The flights would be very attractive for members of the Pakistani diaspora living in eastern Canada.

“We are excited to offer direct flights between Canada and Pakistan,” CEO Zara Airways Syed Quli said at a news conference in Karachi.

The airline will use two Boeing 777 aircraft initially, and could expand to more flights as time goes on, officials said.
