Canada Jetlines To Lease Aircraft and Crew for 5 Months Under ACMI Contract

Canada Jetlines YYZ-YVR

Canada Jetlines has signed a five-month contract to provide aircraft and crew under ACMI operations beginning at the end of MAR. The contract will consist of daily flying and will last until the end of SEPT. Canada Jetlines has completed around 50 charter and ACMI flights so far in 2023 and expects to provide several more charter flights over the coming months.

The lessees of the aircraft and crew have not been named.

Also known as wet or damp leasing, ACMI leasing is an agreement between two airlines, where the lessor agrees to provide an aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance (ACMI) to the lessee – in return for payment on the number of block hours operated.

ACMI provides the lessee with additional or replacement capacity, even at short notice.
