In FEB, Porter Airlines is scheduled to begin operations out of Toronto Pearson, and it's marking the occasion with $1 fares on select inaugural FEB flights between the new YYZ hub and Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.
Porter has operated out of Toronto’s Billy Bishop airport since 2006. As Open Jaw has reported, Porter's expansion to a new YYZ hub comes with its acquisition of 50 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft that allow the airline to open new routes to western Canada and cross-border.
The celebratory sale of Porter's new YYZ routes to Canadian destinations was posted on its website, and the $1 fares are available to the first 50 passengers on the designated flights. Airport taxes and fees are additional.
Pax can get the same fare on return designated flights as well. If they return on a different day within 7 days of the inaugural flight, pax can still use the same promo code for a 50% discount on the return fare, with limited availability.
Many flights - all between 01FEB and 24FEB - have already sold out, although it appears the airline has been releasing some new blocks of seats.
Passengers on the inaugural flights will also receive $150 for a future Porter booking and a chance to win a free round trip with the airline.
