More cuts from Sunwing as it seeks to stabilize its operations this winter and as says it attempts to deal with a pilot shortage.
The latest round of cuts for the airline and packaged vacation operator are from Winnipeg, where weekly flights to two Mexico destinations are being eliminated in early FEB.
Sunwing has confirmed that Thursday flights from Winnipeg to Los Cabos will stop on 02FEB, while weekly Friday flights to Mazatlan end on 10FEB.
The company cites " operational and business constraints that would prevent us from delivering the standards of service our customers both expect and deserve," for the latest round of service cuts, which have primarily been in Western Canada. Sunwing apparently said in a statement that it hopes to return full service to Winnipeg for the winter 2023-24 sun season.
Booked pax affected by the cancellations between Winnipeg and both Mexican destinations will be able to try to reschedule their holidays to another Sunwing destination. In addition, the operator says it is offering affected pax a $100 travel credit "as a goodwill gesture."
Affected pax can contact Sunwing at 1-877-786-9464 to change their destination and recoup the travel credit.
