Rosario Ramirez, Regional Sales Manager
Velas Resorts presented a number of critical updates for the Canadia trade on Monday. Most importantly, the group is now offering on-site COVID-19 PCR testing at its properties in Los Cabos, Riviera Maya, Riviera Nayarit, and Puerto Vallarta, announced Rosario Ramirez, Regional Sales Manager with Velas Resorts, in a webinar on 25JAN.
The cost of the on-property PCR test depends on the resort and ranges from US$160 to $290. The off-property price, available at hospitals in some destinations, is available at a lower cost. Click here for more information.
Velas has implemented additional health and safety protocols to help guests feel safe travelling. These include dedicated sanitation training for resort employees, touchless check-in, hand sanitizers stationed throughout the resort, daily temperature checks for all staff and guests, and frequent sanitization of the resort’s common areas. A detailed list of all Velas’ safety measures can be found here.
With an eye to future bookings, Ramirez encouraged agents to join the revamped Velas Experts agent portal, which has exclusive booking perks, event access, agent rates and discounts. The portal also offers training to enhance agents’ knowledge of the resorts and destination.
On the portal, agents can find information about the Velas ‘Dedicated Week’ event, running from 25JAN to 29JAN, 2021 for a travel window between 25JAN and 18DEC, 2021. This event offers 500 points in the Velas Expert program if an agent posts an image on their social media and hashtags #VelasDedicatedWeek.
For group bookings at Grand Velas properties, agents can get a US$500 bonus by booking friends and family retreats, or three complimentary nights on the property previously reserved. For group bookings at the Velas Vallarta, agents can receive a $200 bonus or one complimentary night.
