Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has announced the appointment of Michelle Palma as their new Manager of National Accounts in Canada. Before joining Uniworld, Palma was the Director of National Sales at Signature Vacations where she developed and managed the national sales strategy with senior management, and negotiated preferred supplier agreements with Canada’s leading travel agencies and consortiums. Prior to this role, Palma was the Director of National Marketing for Signature Vacations, where she oversaw the production of the brochures as well as the company’s national marketing strategy. She spent the previous 15 years in a variety of senior sales and marketing roles on both the wholesale and retail sides of the travel industry.
“We are delighted to have Michelle Palma as our Manager of National Accounts in this newly created position for Canada,” stated Janice Tully, Senior Vice President of Sales at Uniworld. Along with this newly created position, Uniworld has launched for the very first time, a new website specifically for Canadian travellers and travel agents, and has published their 2011 Europe and Russia, and China brochures in Canadian dollars, which are priced at par with the US dollar brochure. “Uniworld is committed to growing the business in Canada and providing the right level of support to our travel agent partners on all levels. Michelle’s passion for developing strong partnerships with retail accounts on both national and local levels, as well as helping clients to develop targeted sales and marketing campaigns that deliver maximum results will be a great asset for Uniworld in Canada,” added Tully.
