Occidental Hotels and Resorts has recently opened the Allegro Varadero in Cuba. Formerly Oasis Playa Varadero 1920, the newly renovated 534 room Occidental property is set on a private white-sand beach stretching more than a kilometre.

The Mediterranean themed Allegro Varadero offers an array of services including a spa, full access to the gym, a cigar shop, salsa classes and other daily activity programs. In addition to the unlimited meals at Hababnero Buffet & Cayo Largo Buffet, guests can enjoy one dinner per week at each a la carte restaurant Mamma Mia (Italian), Palma (international gourmet), Frutos del Mar (grilled seafood) and El Ranchon.

Popular with Canadians, Allegro resorts are family orientated and affordable. Guests can enjoy a wide variety of land or water sports, an active nightlife and supervised children activities with Kids Club.  Other Allegro resorts include Allegro Playa Dorada (Dominican Republic), Allegro Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic), Allegro Papagayo (Costa Rica), Allegro Cozumel (Mexico), Allegro Playcar (Mexico) and Allegro Nuevo Vallarta (Mexico).
