Luxury Adventure Travel: Demand For Extreme Experiences Remains After Sub Incident

Luxury adventure travel companies are in the spotlight following the death of 5 people in a non-certified sub at the Titantic dive site in JUN.

The situation reflected a growing market high-risk experiences catering to high-level travellers, with at least seller stating they will continue to push the boundaries to meet client demand, reports Skift.

Despite the recent fatal sub incident, Insider Expeditions founder Carl Shephard believes that affluent travellers are still eager to explore the limits of travel. The 15-year-old boutique travel company offers “extreme and expensive experiences.”

The never-been-done-before is the company’s “sweet spot,” said Shepherd, with current itineraries including a tennis court in the middle of the Serengeti and taking in a live concert in Antarctica. However, Shephard emphasized that safety should always be the top priority.
