Grand Riviera Princess has undergone a full-scale transformation, reopening on 16MAY after a nearly year-long closure with a complete top-to-bottom renovation. First-time visitors will find a polished, contemporary property, while returning guests will appreciate the thoughtful enhancements woven throughout the reimagined resort.
Princess Hotels & Resorts has been systematically renovating its portfolio since 2019 to elevate the brand to align with evolving traveller expectations.

Redesigned Suites and Platinum Perks
Platinum Suite with Plunge Pool is a brand new category. There are 34 of these suites, each with a private pool and terrace, accommodating up to three guests over the age of 13. It’s a natural fit for couples, honeymooners, adult friends, or families with an older child who want space and a degree of privacy without leaving the all-inclusive model.
Platinum-level accommodations come with a suite of added conveniences.

Laguna Villa Suites are adults only, and the property’s most exclusive offering. With just 24 villas, this category leans into a quieter, more private atmosphere with lagoon views and a private outdoor shower.
“The Laguna Villa Suites are an adult-only section right in the middle of the property. They were cool before, and now with the renovations, they’re even cooler, with more of a Tulum vibe,” says Perez.
What really sets the Laguna Villas apart is the level of service layered on top of standard Platinum Club perks:
- Access to one hydrotherapy circuit per person
- A special culinary experience once per week in the Villa area

Notably, the renovation brings greater consistency across all room types. Entry-level categories such as the Junior Suite and Deluxe Junior Suite reflect the same elevated experience and design philosophy as the higher-end suite categories.

As Perez notes, Grand Riviera Princess had a well-established presence in the Canadian market, but now returns with a more current product at a time when travellers are placing greater emphasis on value.
