The resort reopened 01APR, 2026, following its closure after Hurricane Melissa blew through Jamaica, and the dining program is one of the areas where guests will notice some meaningful upgrades.
A Culinary Lineup to Crave
Each restaurant, bar, and dining venue at Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay has its own personality and menu.
“Everybody expects jerk chicken in Jamaica and we have that, of course. But we’re also giving clients the opportunity to experience things they might not have access to back home. It’s about adding variety and letting them try something different during their stay,” says Henry Perez, Director, Sales & Business Development USA & Canada, Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts.
The headline addition is Thali, the resort’s new Indian-inspired restaurant, which opened as part of the APR 2026 relaunch. Thali serves hearty favourites like butter chicken, shrimp curry, samosas, and much more.
“We have an amazing Indian chef leading it who is very well known in culinary circles. It’s something different for the destination and for the resort. It gives guests the opportunity to try something they might not normally choose, and it’s part of the all inclusive,” says Perez.
What guests walk into at Thali is immersive décor, striking design accents, and a menu built to explore. A signature tasting offering features nine individual dishes, letting guests sample in a single sitting.

- Jazmín: The international buffet, refreshed with green hues and a more elegant atmosphere, is a reliable go-to for any meal of the day.
- Picasso: Updated during the resort’s closure, this Mediterranean restaurant has been repositioned as a premium gourmet concept. Standout dishes include grilled octopus with potato and green oil foam, duck with apple and champignon confit, and rack of lamb with grilled vegetables and Spanish sauce.
- Las Olas: An international dining spot serving meals and drinks by the seaside during the day.
- Rodizio at Las Olas: Come evening, Las Olas transforms into a Brazilian-style steakhouse, featuring grilled specialties served against a backdrop of stunning ocean views. Skewers are the highlight, with options like cinnamon-caramelized pineapple and chorizo.
- Beachfront Snack Bar: For something casual between activities, the beachfront snack bar keeps guests fuelled without missing a moment of the action.
The culinary experience at Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay extends well beyond the restaurant table. Guests can enjoy 24-hour in-suite dining, offering the flexibility to indulge on their own schedule, whether it’s a late-night bite or a leisurely breakfast in bed.
