“Laughter is brightest in the place where the food is.”
While this proverb is Irish, it’s at the Bahia Principe Luxury Esmeralda Hotel and Resort in Punta Cana, (Dominican Republic) where this rings most true. Families are often heard laughing and enjoying a terrific meal at one of the many restaurants they can choose from.
Within the Esmeralda resort location itself, guests can find seven different restaurants, and six bars.
Think about starting at El Taino, where the flavours of the Dominican are featured in delicious local cuisine, including ceviche and octopus. The menu is described as “Ancestral flavours transformed into gastrique cuisine.”
Described as “cozy and vibrant”, The Thali Restaurant features Indian cuisine, where you can sample kebabs, curry and tandoor cooking over a six-piece meal.
The Tequila Restaurant offers the best of Mexican foods, with tostadas, nachos and quesadillas amongst the choices.
Date night? Adults only at the Fish Market Restaurant with its wide array of seafood choices.
Las Olas Beach restaurant offers up an outdoors International buffet, Cainey, with a formal dress code that measures up to the gourmet food choices, made with the freshest of ingredients. The theme changes daily, and its open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with no reservation required. If your clients are looking to eat near the beach, listening to the sounds of a bosa nova and selecting a steak to be cooked to perfection, Caicu Beach and Rodizio Restaurant is the place to be. Served part buffet and part tableside.
You’ll not go thirsty with the selection of bars on site. The Areito Lobby Bar is right there when you arrive, or when you’re (sadly) waiting to depart. The Amanito and Amana Wet bars are always popular, plus what’s a water park without a bar. The Atabey Beach bar for after beach activities, or just good ‘ol beach sitting, and the Batu Sports bar is open late for those who don’t want the day to end. The Blue Bar offers tasty snacks as well.
Bahia Principe Luxury Esmeralda guests also have unlimited access to the restaurants and bars of Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar (adults only), Bahia Principe Grand Aquamarine (adults only), Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana, Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro and Bahia Principe Grand Turquesa, for a total of 26 restaurants and 34 bars. (Guests must dine at their own buffets but are free to choose from the other resorts’ a la carte restaurants.) There is an internal shuttle service between the hotels, but guests can also easily walk between them.
Guests don’t have to worry about where or when they’re going to eat, simply by taking advantage of online booking (up to 10 days in advance on the website) or using the app when they’re at the resort. Of course they can walk up and make the reservation the old-fashioned way, but having the option to book in advance can be efficient when dealing with large groups or little children.
If your clients have food restrictions or specialized meal plans that they need to follow, the Esmeralda Resort (and all Bahia resorts) is ready for them. Identifying those needs at check-in is the best way to ensure that the resort is aware of serious allergies and other issues that need to be addressed during mealtimes. And every buffet has a Healthy Options corner, plus a la carte menus are labels with any food warnings that might need to be observed (allergies, gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, etc.)
One thing is certain, no matter the cuisine preferences and dining styles your clients have, you’re sure to find something on the wide menu choices to feed their appetites.
