A new Alltra-fun, Alltra-chic experience is coming to Mexico’s dreamy Pacific Coast, a resort that’s a dynamic combination of everything the country has to offer.
Currently on pre-sale, the family-friendly, 229-suite Wyndham Alltra Riviera Nayarit is officially opening as a Playa resort on 10 OCT 2022, tapping into the DNA of the brand Canadians know and love.
Sprawled on 300 kilometres of coastline between the Pacific Ocean and the lush tropical jungles of the Sierra Madres mountain chain, this all-inclusive resort is just 20 minutes from PVR in Nuevo Vallarta, a town renowned for its exquisite golf offering and prime surfing scene.
Alltra, a brand to fill an upper-midscale niche
The birth child of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and Playa Resorts, the all-new Alltra brand for the upper-midscale market features both family-friendly and adults-only all-inclusive resorts.
Both Wyndham and Playa felt there was a need in the marketplace for an all-inclusive brand that caters to the upper-midscale segment. Many all-inclusives are usually either very luxurious or they’re kind of run-of-the-mill with things like their buffets. Wyndham and Playa felt there was a middle path, says Amanda Morris, Director of Sales -Canada at Playa Resorts.
“The definition of Alltra and where the name originated is ‘all-inclusive travel for all.’”
The first Alltra properties, the Wyndham Alltra Cancun and Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen, opened in OCT 2021. According to Morris, the Riviera Nayarit Alltra offers “a bit more of an upscale experience” than its siblings on the Atlantic coast.
Suite dreams are made of this…
Luxuriously appointed amenities, a mini-bar that’s restocked daily, a private balcony in each room… Guests are sure to have sweet dreams in any of the 229 suites, no matter the category, although some have that extra cherry on top that guarantees to bring out the deepest ZZZs.
Your clients can retreat to chic rooms that feature breathtaking views of the lush tropics, the Sierra Madre Mountains, stunning Pacific coastline, or the Banderas Bay (and maybe spot a whale from their window–the Bay is an important breeding and birthing ground for humpback whales).
The massive Presidential Suite is the ultimate escape. Spanning 1,173 square feet and exclusively for adult guests, this opulent suite offers Alltra VIP Club amenities in addition to a separate dining area, living area, and a private furnished balcony with a hot tub.
Guests who book premium rooms like the Presidential Suite can elevate their stay with a Club Level suite, which scores them a spot in the VIP Club, an exclusive area on the sixth floor where VIP guests get preferential status and amenities including personalized cocktail service and concierge assistance.
A world of comfort and convenience in one stunning destination
With all of the amenities and personal touches you expect from a luxury resort, guests can relax in style.
The Alltra Riviera Nayarit has eight restaurants and four bars, all of which serve to accommodate guests’ deepest cravings (no reservations required!).
ōShean is made for seafoodies. It’s a rooftop lounge serving Pan Asian Cuisine with a side of spectacular views of Banderas Bay and the Sierra Madre Mountains. Not into seafood? No problem. Restaurants like the Brasas, where grilled specialties take centre stage, or the Tuscany-inspired Al Dente Trattoria will probably hit the spot.
There’s also the Cosecha Beach Grill for quick oceanfront bites, La Costa Mexican for–you guessed it–top-notch traditional Mexican, and Taverna Meze Eastern Mediterranean Cuisine, which specializes in sea-to-table and Mediterranean eats. The Ventanas Marketplace Buffet serves international cuisine in a casual yet elegant atmosphere.
The resort also boasts three swimming pools (an infinity pool, a family pool, and a seasonally-heated main pool), a modern fitness centre, a pristine white-sand beach, and the 10,000-square-foot Aura spa with hydrotherapy circuits, Mayan-inspired treatments, and body rituals personalized to guests’ needs. The spa pool and hot tub are located on the rooftop of the resort’s building, showcasing a beautiful view of Nuevo Vallarta.
Wyndham Alltra Riviera Nayarit offers a world of fun for younger guests. Camp Alltra is packed with cool activities and adventures like water sports, beach games, arts and crafts, and nightly shows.
Experience the Enchanting Riviera Nayarit
When you think of Mexican vacations, your mind may go straight to warm sandy beaches and tequila shots, but there’s so much more to Riviera Nayarit.
This region on Mexico’s Pacific coast has been a haven for those looking to take it easy, along with a multitude of opportunities to explore the local culture and take part in activities that range from water sports to wine tastings.
“There are a lot of things to do nearby,” Morris says. “There are world-class golf courses and towns to explore not too far away, like Sayulita, which is really known for its surfing scene. A lot of guests take tours to go whale-watching, especially in the winter time.”
Mexico’s Pacific Coast isn’t as well known in Canada’s Eastern market as the Caribbean, so the Alltra Riviera Nayarit offers a more off-the-beaten-path experience for guests in Ontario, Quebec, and the east coast, says Morris.
“It’s great for people who want to explore the destination because there’s a lot of tourism in the area and a lot to see,” Morris says.
“If a traveller would make the trek from Toronto or the east coast, I think what they’re looking for is a more secluded experience. Cancun has built a reputation for being a bit more energetic type of destination.”
Beautiful beach towns like Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit are just a short drive away, and they’re two of the most beautiful coastal towns in Mexico.
Currently being refitted from a Dreams property under the AMR Collection, the Wyndham Alltra Riviera Nayarit will be the Alltra brand’s first property on Mexico’s west coast.
“The three properties are amazing, but it’s also the destinations they’re in that’s a huge draw, with Alltra Playa del Carmen being right by Fifth Avenue, Alltra Cancun being so close to the airport and having a great beach, and Alltra Riviera Nayarit being a bit off the beaten path and on a nice stretch of beach,” Morris says.
