Who knew the Swiss had such a sense of humour?
A new Swiss train, the Golden Pass Express, which runs from Montreux on Lake Geneva to Interlaken in central Switzerland, has been named "Shania Train." A spokesperson for the operator of the new train, the Montreux Oberland Bernois Railway announced that, "The Canadian singer is the godmother of the Shania Train."
The tribute to the Canadian country music star is not as big a stretch as it seems. Shania Twain has lived by Switzerland's Lake Geneva for the last decade.
Twain appears to be embracing the punni-ness of the whole thing, tweeting "All aboard the Shania Train to Twain Town" following the inauguration ceremony.
All aboard the Shania Train!
The new, three-hour train service eliminates the need for passengers to change trains twice to travel the route.
No word on whether Shania Twain's music regales them along their journey on the almost-namesake - if you lisp - train.
